BooksGoSocial

This week, we're talking with Kelly Fitzgerald Fowler about her new book, Over My Dead Body.

Over My Dead BodyTell us something unexpected about yourself!

I used to be a Credit Card Fraud Investigator & once helped the Secret Service take down a kidnapper.

Why do you write?

To tell stories that must be told.

Where did you get the inspiration for your current book?

From the Holy Spirit.

What do you enjoy the most about your genre?

I love to study the Bible and daydream about conversations different people in the Bible may have had with each other. I think about conversations Moses may have had with Jesus in Heaven. Biblical fiction opens up so many possibilities for fun conversations regarding the supernatural.

How would you describe your writing process?

Research, research, research! Run a few conversations through my mind and put it into a location. Use some historical and biblical truths from the conversation to cross the t's and dot the i's.

What do you think authors have to gain from participating in social media?

For those who like networking, its an incredible opportunity. I am one of those people. I love being able to talk directly to people interested in my niche. I get to reach the exact audience who enjoy what I am writing. Social media is like being at a large party with people all over the world you would never have the opportunity to meet.

What advice would you have for other writers?

Just write the book and stop worrying so much about what others will think of you. Your contribution can only come from your unique view and your approach to writing. Hire people who are good at doing what you lack, but for God's sake, stop being so afraid of everything.

How do you select your books’ titles and covers?

The title, Over My Dead Body, was a direct word I felt in my spirit from the Holy Spirit. My cover & artwork was created by a professional animation studio who has a great eye for unique covers.

What's your next step?

Since the novel is Biblical Fiction, I am soon to publish a Bible Study to accompany the biblical concepts in the story so others can lead groups to dig deeper into some of the ideas in the book like angels, demons & other supernatural experiences in the Bible.

What book do you wish you had written?

This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti.

Kelly Fitzgerald Fowler

How do you react to seeing a new review for your book?

I love seeing what people think about what I decided could be a benefit to the world. If they don't agree with me, it's ok. You can only please some of the people some of the time.
