“Hello William.” he hears a voice while looking around, and beginning to section the room. “In here,” he shouts. A young woman walks in from the outside. “Hello,” she says, “I am Amina, from the local library” “Hello Amina.” William, “I am from the Jaipur main library, as you probably know.”

“Yes, I was sent to help you and Abha. I was the only one available to send. There will be more staff here soon.” “Do you understand Esperanto?” William ask Amina. Library staff around the world usually speak Esperanto among each other. “No,” she responds. ”

“Well thank you for coming,” William says. “Have you done crime scene investigation?” “No, not personally. But I once was at one.” “That is fine,” he assures her. “You can help record notes for me.” He hands her his notepages and pencil. She looks even younger than him.

“How long have you worked for the library?” he asks her. “I was just hired,” she tells him. “I started just a month ago. I have mostly been working in the library and learning about the books. How long have you worked.” “I grew up in libraries,” he brags.

“The Librarian in Gao adopted me after my parents died in an accident. I was sent to Jaipur three years ago because they asked for additional staff.” She makes admiring noises, and he starts dictating observations to her. She positions her own vegetable oil lamp on a table and stays next to it as William moves around the room.
