Mr Wakefield was a young man from a place called Belsay, in the north region. He was a happy boy who grew up with his old man working the gardens of the nearby castle grounds. Years passed, and then he met Eppe Hall, his wife to be. Soon after they got married, they had their first miracle, a baby boy whom they named Karl. Little Karl grew up watching his father work the land, and eventually he joined in, training the horses to plough and race for many years. By the time he was twenty, he had learned to master the craft well and had helped his father sell cattle in the nearby villages.

Since he’d been a little boy, Karl had heard a rumour about a white horse that ran through the village and pranced at exactly ten o’clock at night once every five years. Sadly enough for Mr and Mrs Wakefield, it happened in the same week Karl was born.

When Karl heard about it, he sought excitement and thrills. Curiosity struck and made him want to find out more. He hoped to catch a glance of this prancing white stallion, and before the hour of ten he waited under the pale moonlight but fell asleep right before the horse arrived.

He grew up quite nicely, and the rumour of the horse hadn’t died out; there was not much attention paid to it, especially by Karl. In later years, he met a dazzling girl in a town called Morpeth, which he had visited many times. After many years, they decided to marry.

They moved into a nice house on the outside of the village, where they ploughed the fields and sold their goods in the villages every Wednesday. In the three years since they’d married, they worked hard to make life worthwhile.

Most of the talk in the pub’s taproom went on about horse racing, the discussions on the market, or the effects of the floods. Karl sometimes mingled whenever he felt like having a pint, especially when the topic was about horse racing.
Wednesday dawned, and the market was calling. Karl was the first one outside, breathing in the fresh morning air and preparing, and then he heard the following.

The Mystic of Karl Mind – The Shadow of the Vytos Description:

The body is the subconscious mind that moves through diff erent worlds where time has a diff erent meaning. Karl Wakefi eld, a market merchant with no extraordinary ability, found himself in the other worlds after many moments of keeping inner secrets that urged him on. One particular question haunted him for most of his life: What if …?

A longing for understanding he willed to have a grip on reason as the past haunted him. He never expected his questions to be answered by mythical creatures, and one day he made a deal with Margus Inferian, a powerful enchanter. Karl’s coming was predicted, and suddenly he was pulled into a different world.

He found himself witnessing abnormal events as he was hurled into a dimension where “the man who knows” has the answers to his unsolved mysteries and aids him to see what he could not before. He made a discovery of an ancient time, tangled in delusions of the past and hunted down by the vile fi gures of the Gulusis and a dark thoughts of the one in masquerade, all seeking the pendant of the mountains and the dagger of Vytos. Karl discovered powers he never knew he had.

Unwittingly, Karl’s wife, Eve, became involved, and he struggled between his own understanding and she who held his heart. He was forced to continue, steered by his will to where the path ahead held his future. Would they survive – or crumble and pine away for the forgotten past?
