A lot of people have asked me why I would write a book on how to save money. Let’s be honest, it’s a topic that’s nowhere near as interesting as the Harry Potter novels. Truthfully, I strongly believe that your financial situation can affect every aspect of your life. It can affect your mental health, your personal relationships, your physical health, and your stress levels. Once you get your finances under control, and you take control of your spending, you can start taking charge of your life in radical ways.

The ideas in this book are based on my personal experiences, as well as those of family and friends. They are not meant to offend anyone, however, I am simply pointing out the things that worked and didn’t work for us, and the ways in which we realised we were wasting money.

The point of this book is not to tell you never to spend money again, but to make you realise that there may be areas in which you are wasting your money, or at the very least, spending more than you need to. Once you identify the problem spending, you can then have more money to spend on the things that are really important to you, such as your home, travel, or any other personal projects. The ideas in this book are all about small changes you can easily make, to improve your finances and your quality of life, and how to make your money go further.

Please note that everything is based on life in Australia, and that some of the prices I’ve quoted may be different around the world. Happy reading!
