“Come fly with me,” said Butterfly to Kitten.

“I can try to fly,” said Kitten. He jumped and jumped and jumped, but could only get off the ground a little bit.

“Flap your wings,” said Butterfly.

“I don’t think I have wings,” said Kitten.

“What are those long, hairy things you have?” asked Butterfly.

“These are my front legs and these are my front paws,” said Kitten.
Kitten tried jumping up and down. He waved his front legs and front paws in the air, but Butterfly was still beyond his reach.

“I don’t think we can fly together,” Kitten sighed. “But we could chase our tails!”
The idea of chasing his tail made Kitten so excited that he ran in circles on the ground.

“I’ll show you again!” cried Kitten. “You try to catch your tail like this.” Kitten ran in circles once again.

“What do you do with your tail once you’ve caught it?” asked Butterfly.

“I don’t know,” said Kitten. “It’s never happened. You try it now!”

“But I don’t have a tail,” said Butterfly.

“Just give it a try!” squealed Kitten, who danced on his back legs still trying to fly.
