Hazel woke with a start. She realised that once again she had had the dream that was haunting her waking hours as well as her nightly sleep. The dream had a horrific element to it.
In the dream ,Pete, her husband, and their twin sons had vanished. As she frantically searched for them everything became darker and darker, and she could not reach them in the darkness. As she screamed out their names, she awoke, realising that in the dream they had gone to heaven and left her and Suzanne behind on earth.
She blamed Pete for the dream, because he was continually nagging her about accepting Jesus as her Saviour. He kept telling her that Jesus was going to come again soon to take the church to heaven.
She had told Pete not to be so stupid – no such thing could possibly happen – but it was obviously beginning to get into her mind. Now she was late for work because she had overslept.
