30 Days: Change your habits, change your life

Marc Reklau

30 Days

“If you think you can you’re right, if you think you can’t you’re right”  –  Henry Ford

Look around you. What do you see? Look at your surroundings, the atmosphere, and the people around you. Think of your current life conditions: work, health, friends, people surrounding you. What do they look like? Are you happy with what you see? Now look inside of you. How do you feel RIGHT NOW in this moment? Are you satisfied with your life? Are you longing for more? Do you believe that you can be happy and successful? What is missing from your life that you need to call your life happy and/or successful? Why do some people seem to have everything and other people nothing?

Most people have no idea how they get what they get. Some of us just blame it on fate and chance. I’m sorry that I have to be the one to tell you: “Sorry friend! You have created the life you have! Everything that happens to you is created by YOU – either consciously by design or unconsciously by default; it’s not a result of fate or circumstances.

I decided to write this book because I’m seeing so many people that are dreaming of improving their life, being happier, becoming wealthier yet according to them, the only way that could happen would be due to some kind of miracle: winning the lottery, marrying rich, or some other stroke of luck. They are looking for outside influences to happen by chance and change everything. They think life happens to them. Most of them have no idea that they can be in total control of their life each and every moment and every day of their lives. So they continue daydreaming, doing those things that they’ve always done, and waiting for some miraculous outcome. Sometimes they actually don’t even know what they want! The following is a conversation I actually had:

Q:”What would you do if you had enough time and money?”
A:”Man! That would be great! I would be happy!”
Q:”And what would ‘being happy’ look like to you?”
A:”I would do everything I want to do!”
Q:”And what is ‘everything you want to do’?”
A:”Oh! Now you got me. I don’t even know!”

The true tragedy is that if they would only stop for one moment, ask themselves what they really want in life, write down their goals and start working towards them, they could actually make those miracles happen. I see it day in and day out with my coaching clients: people that come to me because they want to change something in their lives, and instead of sitting around and waiting and dreaming of a better life, they actually take matters in their own hands and start taking action! And the results are fabulous!

Journal Like God – Harness the Creative Power of the Universe Through Journal Writing

CHAPTER 1 — INTRODUCTION

Some of us have been journaling since we were old enough to write, but others are new to the practice. Some have a New Year’s tradition of recording their resolutions and wishes for the upcoming year in a fresh new journal. Many of us have received beautiful, blank journals as gifts or mementos. Some of these journals have beautiful covers made of leather, are adorned with colorful images, and are filled with inviting paper. They seem so full of possibility and are begging to be filled with our handwritten thoughts, ideas, and dreams.

Over the years, many people have been encouraged to journal for therapeutic, spiritual, or purely pleasurable purposes. Therapists, authors, and inspirational leaders all tout the benefits of journaling. Oprah Winfrey has kept a journal for decades. Since she was a young child she has written about her lifetime experiences. In later years, her journal became one of gratitude wherein she wrote about things she was grateful for, as a way to increase the good in her life. Dr. Phil advocates the practice of writing down thoughts and feelings for the purpose of compiling a Personal Concepts profile, or a Relationship Behavior profile. Deepak[…]”

Hobby Writing: How To Make Your Play, Pay.

Introduction

‘Writing is not necessarily something to be ashamed of, but do it in private and wash your hands afterwards.’
Robert Heinlein

The hobby and leisure market opportunities for good writers are huge. Just walk into your local supermarket or newsagent and count the different leisure or ‘specialist' titles on the shelves. There are hundreds and they are so diverse. Photography, music, knitting, stamp collecting, gaming, angling, shooting, horse riding, skiing, running, swimming, bird watching, cookery, gardening, walking, camping, motor sports .. the list is endless. The reason these titles are there is because people buy them. Don't be fooled into thinking that the purchase price is totally subsidised by the reader, however. Magazines rely heavily on their advertising revenue to cover their overheads. For the hobby writer, that is extremely important to remember and I will cover that in a later chapter.

If you enjoy a hobby or past-time that isn't enjoyed by others, it would be very unusual. If your hobby is making toffee-apples, there will be someone, somewhere on this vast planet who also enjoys making toffee-apples and will want to read recipes or look for alternative methods to make toffee-apples. Someone needs to supply that demand, so in many ways the artisan who can specialise in writing articles for niche markets (niche hobbies) will find it reasonably easy to bring those articles to market.

The market may be small, so earnings for articles will be low. But, hey! This is your hobby, right? You do it for pleasure, not pay! So if you make enough bucks to cover the cost of your apples, your toffee and sticks .. you're enjoying your hobby for free!

Of course, there are hobby writers who want to go a little further than this. So that's where this book comes in. What are your markets? Where should you pitch your talent? Who should you contact and how? What writing or photographic tools do you need? How do you get your name in there as a hobby-specialist journalist ( a ‘hobby-sensei’ ) and keep it there? How do you offer something different to your peers?

How does the hobby publishing world work? I’ve been there .. and stayed there for ten years. That’s what this book is about and if it helps a single reader to get a single article into print (and get paid for it ) then I have achieved what I set out to do.

The Family Caregiver’s Guide

Harriet Hodgson

 Caregiving is an Expanding Role

Caregiving may be new to you. You may not know what the job entails. Defining your mission is a good place to start. Even if you’re en experienced caregiver, you may want to rethink your mission.

There may be more to your caregiving job than you first realize. For example, your loved one may have been diagnosed with diabetes. Your spouse’s health may decline more quickly than anticipated. Caregiving is doubly difficult if you loved one has dementia. You need to know your mission and stay on task. Is your mission clear in your mind?

Define Your Mission

A caregiver’s basic mission is to protect and care for the ill person. Your mission statement may have a qualifier, such as “I will care for my loved one as long as I can.”

Why should you bother to think about your mission? Answering this question often leads to thoughts about family issues. A brother or sister may think they should be your loved one’s primary caregiver, but your home is better suited caregiving. You may be in a better financial position to care for a loved one. You may live in the same town as your loved one, whereas siblings live thousands of miles away, and becoming your loved one’s caregiver makes more sense. This decision also saves your loved one from an expensive, tiring move.

Introduction

“I don't know a single person who is not immersed in the digital universe. Even people who are strongly anti-technology are probably voicing that view on a Website somewhere. Third-World villagers without electricity have cell phones.

Has our use of technology become an addiction to the point of no return? Could you be addicted to the Internet? These are burning questions facing many people today.

You are an admirable human being. Despite being tweaked, taunted or tortured by something called an Inner Critic, you just picked up this book that refers to it as an advantage. That’s really brave, a little crazy or a bit of both. That makes you pretty special and puts you in some very good company.

You stand with:

Test-takers who are comfortable and competent in their subject matter until they log into the exam site and are greeted by an overwhelming screen full of questions.

Elite athletes and business people, navigating a dip in performance while trying not to replay every error or failure just before the competition, campaign or event gets started.

Sales professionals, passionate about solving problems and serving customers with high-quality products or services but plagued by memories of past rejections when it’s time to call new prospects.

Talented writers, artists and performers brimming with lovely, creative ideas — right up until the moment they open a notebook, a word processing program or step onto a stage.
